February Charity

On February I collected food for people that didn't have any. And, I had to
collect a lot of it for lots of people. So we delivered it to this house, me
and mom did, and I actually got a lot of food for them and I didn't know I
had to do that many. I picked out food for them. We bought some jello and
cereal and we bought it all at Jewel. There was a lot of jello we bought and
we had some other food too. I picked up some good food and I had to add it
all up to see how much it all was. It was about $100. It was so fun doing
it. I can't wait because it is my turn again in June. So, I love doing it.
So, that's it. - Owen Michael

A Typical Male

Mommy: Guess what. Uncle Ben and Bethany are getting married.
Owen: Do we have to go?

We are very excited for them, even Owen, but he is such a guy about going to things where he has to behave or dress up. :)

Cascade Mountain

We went skiing at in Wisconsin. And do you know what was there? There was a magic carpet. Did you know that? If you’ve ever been to Wisconsin and seen the magic carpet, I bet you’ve been there. And, at skiing my skis looked awesome because they had words on them and one person who was in line at Bunny hill, he had the same skis. And, I’m glad I had a good time there. So, so, so, so, and cuz I liked the ski lift cuz we get to go up in the air and we flew pass the magic carpet. You know why? Cuz we were on the Schoolmarm. And, Schoolmarm is just a little bigger than Bunny hill. It’s just a little bigger but it just has a little half more and there’s trees next to it so you have to watch out. And, guess what we had for our afternoon snack? And, I’ll tell you what that were. Ice cream Dibs. I’ll tell you what I skied. I skied with my mom and it was awesome. Do you know why? Because I wanted to show my mom how my coach taught me how to ski with pizzas, little pizzas and big pizzas. So, that’s all I did with skiing with mom. Now I’ll tell you what I did skiing with Dad. I did with my dad. I went on Bunny hill and it was fun because I showed him how I stopped and my dad keeped making me fall. And, one time my dad made me get snow in my pants! And then after that one, we were fine. We didn’t fall or do nothing. So, I’m done. – Rion Stufflebeam

We went skiing in Wisconsin on last Friday. I went on the ginormous hill and there even was a magic carpet. And, I went on a bunny hill. It was a little hill. Then I went on Schoolmarm that was kind of bigger than Bunny hill. Then, we went on the huge hill. On the huge hill I went through trees. And there was a mountain on the side of the hill. I tried to turn, but I accidentally went up about 3 feet on the mountain. And, we went on the left side of that hill. We had to turn a huge turn to get back on a ski lift. We went back on a ski lift way back up to the other side and we skied down that hill and got there for a snack. And, then it was time to leave. That was our ski day. - Owen

Happy Valentine's Day

I went to my school and we brought some valentines for everybody. And, I loved all of their valentines. I loved all of mine. They were awesome. We didn’t have that much work. We only had a little work. Journals? Yes. We had writing words wagon, and then we haded to do no more work for valentine’s day. And, that’s what we did in the morning. I don’t remember what we did in the afternoon. I helped my mom make valentine’s cupcakes. They are awesome. – Rion
When we just got in school I noticed that it was valentine’s day, so I brought all of my stuff to where I was supposed to put it. Then, I noticed that Mrs. Paluch wasn’t there. I thought it was going to be the worst valentine’s day ever, but it wasn’t. It was really nice. After we did that, we had some work to do. After we did all of our work, we went to music and then we went to lunch. At lunch we got to have pretzels that were shaped like hearts and a hamburger. So, after we had lunch I went to Mrs. Peterman’s class and we went to the LRC. It was the first time we did Fasttmath. When we got back from the LRC, it was time for me to go. I didn’t have any homework that day. After that, I went into the classroom and waited for the party to start. We had pizza! After that, we had our party. There were two games. You had to try and guess how many gummy stuff were in the jar and Jillian got it right. 205 were in there. I guessed 236. Kind of close. And, the other game was a relay race but you had to find, your card said a word, and you had to find it with the candy. It was a tie and we got silly bands for that. It was a very good party. There were cookies we could eat and a lot of other stuff. At the end of the party, we handed out our valentines. The end. - Owen

R/C Car Racing

Mike and the boys, along with the Fries family, tried radio controlled car racing for the first time. - N
On Sunday, February 13th, 2011, me, Rion, and Daddy went to a park district in, I don’t remember what the place was, Berkley. The first couple of things we did, was practiced racing cars and then we did a 3 minute race. And one time, when we were doing the 8 minute race, I got 13 laps and Daddy got 14 because Rion wasn’t racing because he was just taking pictures. Rion and Daddy were on the same team and that made Rion better than me. I only lost by one lap though. It was very swell. My controller was easier to control, well some of the time, it was easier to control. Rion had it first and then he gave it to me. Done. – Owen

Pancake Breakfast

Sunday morning we went to the Boy Scout’s annual pancake breakfast at St. Pius. It was very tasty! - N
When we went to our friend Lane’s, they have a pancake breakfast. And, I had strawberry syrup and I had cherry syrup. And, I had three pancakes. And, my brother had more though. He had four. And, me and my dad loved the orange juice. After, before me and my dad, Owen loved it too. At the pancake breakfast we ate lots of food, but Owen ate more. My brother ate a little more than my dad, but they both had four. And, they were awesome food eaters. - Rion

Introducing Goldy

Did you know that we got a fish? Do you want to know it’s name? It’s name is Goldy. And, we feed it every day, but just once a day. Goldy is a goldfish and it’s a really good swimmer. I learned that from my teacher. Fishes are really good swimmers because my teacher told me that. And, then I looked to see if Goldy liked that home. And, he said “foop”, “foop”. I won our fish, the fish, do you remember our fish’s name? It is what? It is Goldy. And, Goldy is our best fish. It’s our second animal we got. Our very second animal. Now we have a dog and a fish. Our fish is Goldy and our dog is Parker. Parker is a very good swimmer because it’s a dog. Alright. So, he wants to meet fishes. Goldy lives where our dog is. She only likes cold places and Goldy is a goldfish. And, the end. Done. – Rion Stufflebeam

Owen's Quarter 2 Report Card

On my report card I had mostly 4’s. I only have one or two 3’s on my report card. Do you think that’s better than my last report card? I had a good report card so I get to go to Shaw’s next week with some of my friends, Nate, Sammy, Carissa, and Corey. I’m proud about my report card because I didn’t get any 2’s or 1’s or 0’s. Those are like you need tons and tons of improvement. I’m going to work on my behavior because the only thing I didn’t get was N’s. N’s are “needs improvement”. So that’s why I did really good on my best report card so far. – Owen
Owen did great on his most recent report card. He had the highest marks possible in the academic areas and also scored well in the behavior areas. He even went up in two behavior areas, and only went down in one. His teacher reports that he’s doing great and putting forth effort in class. He has gone up two reading levels and is at a 4th grade level. He’s also doing fine in 2nd grade math and writing, and his other test scores are all above average. He is going to work on only leaving the class when he has permission and demonstrating self control. We are very proud of him! But, we need to find a new reward system. All of these brunches, while very tasty, are going to become quite expensive. J - N

The Last Ski Lesson

Owen has become a great skiier! He can’t wait to ski on a longer run. Rion is getting better too. He loves to keep his skis together, so it makes balancing a little rough.

Cupid's Fun Fair

At Cupid’s Fun Fair, that’s where I won the fish. In the goldfish game you try to get the ball in a little bowl that look like fish bowls. And, we played the cake walk and we won one. I should have picked your popcorn, Mom. But, it was my decision. I did pick muffins that had chocolate, but I could have picked our Mom’s famous popcorn. I played the toilet paper game. The toilet paper game you try to throw a toilet paper in a pretend toilet. You get three chances. If you don’t make it, you don’t get a prize. But I played the hockey game. It’s so hard. But I scored it in all three. – Rion Stufflebeam

The Blizzard of 2011

Mommy: Why are we all home today?
Owen: Because no school. Rion why is there no school?
Rion: Cuz there was a blizzard last night and this morning the teachers couldn't get to school. None of them were there that's why closed my school and then I got to stay home.
Owen: Rion, can I go sledding?
Rion: No.
Owen: Last night there was a huge blizzard. It first started when we got to Rion's school. We were walking in the snow. I had my head down so the snow wouldn't hit me. Last night dad shoveled the driveway, but after that, the snow was still there because of the storm.
Rion: And now he's shoveling in the morning.
Owen: February 2nd, 2011. Done.
Mommy: What is a blizzard?
Rion: It is snow that falls down hard. That what a blizzard is.
Mommy: How much snow did we get?
Rion: 18 inches.
Mommy: Close. Daddy says 20.2 inches but much more in some spots on our driveway.
